"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men" Colossians 3:23

.:UPDATE:.

I figured today, I'd just blog with an update. Just a quick, short blog to fill you in on what's been going on.

Today, I tried two new recipes! I made Caribbean pork and pineapple stir-fry.. and homemade chewy granola bars! Both turned out super yummy! My husband and I are big fans of stir fry. One of the first things we bought when we moved in to our apartment was a WOK. So tonight's dinner was a fun, different spin on it, AND we still got to use the WOK & our chopstick set! The granola bars were good too! I filled them with dried cranberries, chocolate chips and coconut. They were quick and easy to make and a healthy snack! #WinWin

Today, I finished sorting through alllllll of my clothes. I have way too many for our little apartment, and I have such a hard time throwing stuff out! But seriously, who needs 6 pairs of black leggings?! I was able to fill almost a whole bag to donate! I feel great about it and now Keith and I have a whole collection of stuff that we're donating to "Bibles for Mission" a local Christian thrift store.

Lastly,
Today, I started writing my book...again.

God placed it on my heart long ago to write a book. For a long time I didn't feel like I would have enough to say, or that anyone would care about what I was writing.. but that's not what it's about. God has enough to say. However, in the midst of life whirling by lately, I've found it hard to stay focused, have true inspiration and motivation. #realtalk

Recently my prayer has been that whatever I do, God has His hand on, that I'm doing it with my heart facing him and for HIS glory, not my own.

So, as I continue with writing, my ideas, thoughts, direction, titles, chapters etc..have changed, have grown, have been deleted.. etc.. but it's happening and I can't wait to share it with all of you daughters, sisters, moms, wives, all of you girls! I'll keep you updated and share details when possible!

I encourage you to take on the challenges God gives you too. Even if they do seem bigger than you can handle! He's got your back:)

The Prayer Challenge

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another. Proverbs 27:17 NIV
Hear my prayer, O God; listen to the words of my mouth. Psalm 54:2 NIV

Throughout my life God has blessed me with a select few girls that I have genuinely been able to call some of my best friends. These girls are my accountability partners. They’re the girls that I can go to and ask for prayer, seek counsel, advice and best of all, we learn from each other. I think as women, its important for us to surround ourselves with strong , godly, women, --that we can learn from, fellowship with and have to hold each other accountable.

One of these women in my life, is my friend Kate Cabebe. Kate asked me to join her in a “prayer challenge”. You might know Kate from her previous band, Disney’s KSM,where she played drums, or from her many worship gigs in the Los Angeles area. She shared with me this challenge that was placed on her heart, and it inspired me to join in.

I encourage anyone reading this to join us!

Prayer is our way as Christians to connect and communicate with God..it turns our hearts towards Him. It is worth more than any financial gift, more fulfilling than a hug, or pat on the back, & is kinder than a few nice words. Prayer is the most powerful thing you can do for someone.

Details:

The challenge is to pray for one or two people a week for an entire month. Each week we will individually be picking new people to pray for. We will be challenging ourselves by praying for people who are outside of our normal area of prayer. Whether it’s someone we hardly know or someone who we don’t pray for in our normal “prayer routine”, or even that one person who we have a hard time praying for…(the one that’s wronged us, the stubborn one, the one that seems the most challenging.. the ones that need your prayers the most.) However you decide.. Challenge yourself! If you don’t know what or how to pray for them..ASK THEM! Let’s break the stagnant prayer routines, as we step out in faith and step up to pray for each other.

You never know how your prayers can affect someone, or even yourself!! So grab an accountability partner, and join us! If you don’t have one, Kate and I would love to help. Let us know! & if you are in need of prayer, don’t hesitate to ask, we’d love to be praying for you as well.
